The Story

The beginning? There wasn’t really one defining moment. My earliest memories of photography go back to when I was 13 or 14, picking up my brother’s Nikon D3100 and shooting my friends surfing. As a surfer myself, it felt like the best use for a camera. It was just fun—never something I imagined turning into a career.

Fast forward to 2020. At 19, I was studying sound engineering at Cape Audio College when the world suddenly hit pause. I flew back home, and like everyone else, I found myself stuck inside. With boredom setting in, I turned to YouTube and stumbled across travel photographers documenting their journeys. That’s when it clicked—"I could do that!"

So, I picked up that same old Nikon, but this time, with real intention. And just like that, my passion for creating grew stronger every day.

As lockdown eased, I started reaching out to small brands, looking for opportunities. To my surprise, I found some success—brands started sending me products, and I created content for them. Looking back, I’m grateful for those early chances, though I still wonder what they saw in me back then—the photos weren’t great!

From there, I honed my skills, refined my craft, and built momentum. Eventually, I found myself shooting for Jaguar, Land Rover, and Guess alongside Steven Segal. I went on to work with professional surfer Matthew McGillivray in J-Bay and was later flown to Portugal to shoot Matt, Liam O’Brien, and Callum Robson at the MEO Portugal Pro.

After Portugal, I set my sights on new challenges. I expanded my skill set into graphic design, web design, social media management, and project management—pushing myself to understand not just photography, but branding and digital marketing as a whole.

Now, I run Blend, a full-service media agency. It’s been a journey filled with challenges, learning curves, and incredible opportunities. But one thing has stayed constant—my passion for creating and helping brands stand out.
